How did gt spend her 35th birthday?
My astrologer told me it's good to do things you want to do for the rest of your life within 24 hours of your birthday.
So I did these...
1. I woke up relatively early in the morning and ran 4 miles. I want to be able to run until 60.
2. I want to be around with friends I love, trust and joke with for the rest of my life. I am kind of a pleaser for "my people" and like to feed them. So I invited two girl friends, Sarah and Leanne to serve sinful breakfast.
Oh, I MUST mention Sarah's "hammer pants" that her husband, Ben got for her from Spain. She is so cool enough to wear those here in Midwest while people give her some "weird" look. Leanne also has a pair...
I served mimosa before the meal and it was 10:30 am :)
My menu was crepes, of course, because I just started making them and it's easy and fun. But, before that I baked my own birthday cake last night. Very dense chocolate cake for... dessert after sweet crepes... Well, the point is being as sinful as you can get, so... For filling, I had bananas, strawberries, nutella, rum raisin and butterscotch schnapps. Holy cow, they are awesome...
and then they sang the birthday song for me.
(WARNING:Yes, I know. I have very weird voice and it's weirder when recorded.)
They started as if they had planned to sing in harmony, like major 3rd intervals. But, the truth was they simply didn't agree with what key to sing in. Still it was lovely
Leanne... I half joked that I take only cash or gift certificate for my bday gift. Then I even narrowed it down to only euro. Not even dollars. My point was so that I don't get any gift. So that people don't bother to buy stuff. Somehow Leanne thought I was serious so she got me some cash and a card. The card says, "gt, thank you for being a crazy monkey!" I loooove that!
3. I spent Leanne's cash by buying a travel book for my road trip to Utah wishing I'll be in condition in many ways to travel around the world until 70.
4. I practiced with recordings of great orchestras hoping I can play in one of those... Yes, it's real karaoke.
5. I got a surprising message from Vox saying that my suggestion for QotD will be in next week! Yay!
6. I got a reply email from Habitat of Humanity. Looks like I'll be working on framing on June 5 and 6. I am a little ashamed that this is my first time volunteering and I am freaking 35... But, I guess it's not too late...
7. I smoke one cigarette on my birthday so I did my ritual with my favorite smoker, Dave who is also my stand partner.
6. I had a drink with my friends after dress rehearsal. I was super tired when I got home, but wanted to take a picture of my legs with fishnet. Man, fishnet empowers me...! And those shoes are my new favorite pair...
